Kate Bush and PG II

One of my favorite PG songs, he really hit a peak here, at the end of a long string of great albums. Again, where is the experimental pop music, why isn’t it popular, if it exists? Could be that the influence of British Progressive music gave Peter inspiration, positive or negative. But the rhythms grounded in the bass I hear are subtly shifting in the afro-cuban/african 6/8 way, then bubbling under the hard R+B piano, and a Stewart Copelan-ish hi hat with delay. Just cool. Finish it off with a throaty Tony Levin bass solo…genius.

The lyrics, poignant and uplifting, simple.
