New Jethro Tull DVD

MSG 1978…Barriemore Barlow, an astoundingly, cracking incredible drummer. It is amazing that music that I had no way in hell of ever being able to watch, let alone listen, is now freely available, in such abundance that it is actually TOO MUCH.

In 1984, I could only guess what Barriemore would have looked like live on a lot of these tracks. Bursting Out is great, but it only tells part of the story, because his drumming is something to really study, and the only way to really know everything possible (stickings), is to watch. We guessed at a lot of things he did, and Neil, and only with viewing was I able to figure out the arm twisting fills and grooves.

Now they’re right there! Amazing. So stoked.
